Exercising is so difficult. I can't seem to run more than 1 minute.

Though I shall try to run a little every day.

or try at least.

Jupiter vaccuums something up!

July 20, 2009

Scientists have found evidence that another object has bombarded Jupiter, exactly 15 years after the first impacts by the comet Shoemaker-Levy 9.

Following up on a tip by an amateur astronomer, Anthony Wesley of Australia, that a new dark "scar" had suddenly appeared on Jupiter, this morning between 3 and 9 a.m. PDT (6 a.m. and noon EDT) scientists at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., using NASA's Infrared Telescope Facility at the summit of Mauna Kea, Hawaii, gathered evidence indicating an impact.

New infrared images show the likely impact point was near the south polar region, with a visibly dark "scar" and bright upwelling particles in the upper atmosphere detected in near-infrared wavelengths, and a warming of the upper troposphere with possible extra emission from ammonia gas detected at mid-infrared wavelengths.

"We were extremely lucky to be seeing Jupiter at exactly the right time, the right hour, the right side of Jupiter to witness the event. We couldn't have planned it better," said Glenn Orton, a scientist at JPL.

Orton and his team of astronomers kicked into gear early in the morning and haven't stopped tracking the planet. They are downloading data now and are working to get additional observing time on this and other telescopes.

This image was taken at 1.65 microns, a wavelength sensitive to sunlight reflected from high in Jupiter's atmosphere, and it shows both the bright center of the scar (bottom left) and the debris to its northwest (upper left).

"It could be the impact of a comet, but we don't know for sure yet," said Orton. "It's been a whirlwind of a day, and this on the anniversary of the Shoemaker-Levy 9 and Apollo anniversaries is amazing."

Shoemaker-Levy 9 was a comet that had been seen to break into many pieces before the pieces hit Jupiter in 1994.

Leigh Fletcher, a NASA postdoctoral fellow at JPL who worked with Orton during these latest observations said, "Given the rarity of these events, it's extremely exciting to be involved in these observations. These are the most exciting observations I've seen in my five years of observing the outer planets!"

The observations were made possible in large measure by the extraordinary efforts of the Infrared Telescope Facility staff, including telescope operator William Golisch, who adroitly moved three instruments in and out of the field during the short time the scar was visible on the planet, providing the wide wavelength coverage.

JPL is managed for NASA by the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena.

Kim Jong-il caught the cancer!

SEOUL, South Korea – North Korean leader Kim Jong Il has life-threatening pancreatic cancer, a news report said Monday, days after new images of him looking gaunt spurred speculation that his health might be worsening following a reported stroke last year.

The 67-year-old Kim was diagnosed with the cancer around the time he was felled by a stroke last summer, Seoul's YTN television reported, citing unidentified intelligence officials in South Korea and China.

The report cited the officials saying the disease is "threatening" Kim's life.

Pancreatic cancer is usually found in its final stage, and considering Kim's age, he is expected to live no more than five years, the report said.

South Korea's spy agency said it could not confirm the report.

Kim's health is a focus of intense media speculation due to concerns about instability and a power struggle if he were to die without naming a successor. His third and youngest son, Kim Jong Un, has widely been reported as being groomed as heir, but the regime has made no announcement to the outside world.

Egyptian Sperm Penetrates Bathing Suit!

A mother is suing a hotel in Egypt after claiming her 13-year-old daughter got pregnant from swimming in a pool, a report claims.

Magdalena Kwiatkowska is convinced her daughter is a virgin and came into contact with some sperm as she swam in the hotel pool, British tabloid The Sunreports.

Mrs Kwiatkowska is now reportedly seeking compensation after returning to the family home in Poland.

"The mother is adamant that her daughter didn't meet any boys while she was there," a travel industry source was quoted as saying.

"She is determined to go ahead with the case."

Tourist authorities in the Polish capital Warsaw confirmed they received Mrs Kwiatkowska's complaint, the newspaper said.

Really now? Them some mighty sperm! The only way I can see this happening if it was some kind of SMALL pool and she was NAKED. I mean can sperm penetrate bathing suits?

Ah Boom Boom Ba

"Georgia Lass is aloof and emotionally distant from her family and shies away from her life. After dropping out of college, she takes a temp job through Happy Time Temporary Services. On her lunch break of her first day, she is hit and killed by a toilet seat from the de-orbiting of the Mir space station.[3] She is informed shortly after her death that, rather than moving on to the "great beyond," she will become "a grim reaper" in the "External Influence" division,[4] responsible for reaping souls of people who die in accidents (many of which are of Rube Goldberg-style and complexity), suicides and homicides."

----------

Sounds awesome, right? Yeah it is.

About 6 years ago a show called "Dead Like Me' started airing.

Me and my family loved the show. Though we only watched a few episodes and we kind of drifted off to never hear from it again.

A few days ago I came across it again on hulu.com

I watched from Episode 1 of the first season all the way to the last episode in season 2.

Unfortunatly the series was canceled due to Bryan Fuller quitting do to conflicts with MGM making major cuts that he thought was needed in the story and due to low ratings in the second season.

Then this year in Feburary MGM released a movie.

Dead Like Me: Life After Death

Set 5 years after first season.

The movie brings back most old characters.

Unfortuntantly, the actor who played Daisy Adair was replaced by another actor with very little talent. Atleast in this movie she sucked.

In the movie Rube supposedly has seen the light and has moved on and they get a new guy who is screwing up everything and they fall for the trick and have to make it right.

Georgia tells her sister everything.

Etc.

To me it felt like a long episode than a movie.
plus not original actors atleast one.
Just Very bad decisions on the writers part.

MGM says they plan more Movies/Sequels.

Yes I will watch them. I have a feeling I won't love them like I did the series though.
